In honour of Dr. Thomas Staples
Dr. Thomas Staples, former Professor of Music and Director of Bands at the University of Lethbridge until his retirement in 2015, taught conducting, wind instrument history, literature, and music technology. He’s recognized for his horn performances, both at the University and with various bands and orchestras in Western Canada. Staples is also an advocate for brass ensembles, having extensive experience in chamber groups across North America. He holds degrees from the University of Iowa, James Madison University, and the University of Saskatchewan.
