Metis Scholar Graduate Award

Entering or continuing students in a full-time graduate program. Minimum GPA 3.0. Canadian citizen of Metis heritage. Not receiving funding from the Rupertsland Institute. Not be a Registered or Treaty Indian under Canada’s Indian Act. Academic achievement. Financial need.

Please be aware, you must provide proof of Metis ancestry by submitting one of the following:
photocopy of a valid Metis Nation of Alberta (MNA) citizenship card (which can be obtained by applying to the MNA) or a valid Metis citizenship card in any of the following governing members of the Metis National Council: Metis Nation of Ontario, Manitoba Metis Federation, Metis Nation of Saskatchewan, Metis Nation British Columbia; or photocopy of parents, grandparents or siblings valid citizenship card in any of the above named Metis organizations (along with proof of this kinship connection); or
other valid proof of Metis genealogy linking to the Metis Homeland (as validated by either MNA/RLI);

  2. Please upload proof of your Métis heritage by providing one of the following: scanned image of a valid Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) membership card (which can be obtained by applying to the MNA), or scanned image of a valid membership card in any of the following organizations: Métis Settlements of Alberta, Métis Nation of Ontario, Manitoba Métis Federation, Métis Nation - Saskatchewan, Métis Nation British Columbia, or a scanned image of a parent’s, grandparent’s or sibling’s valid membership card in any of the above named Métis organizations (along with proof of this kinship connection); or other valid proof of Métis genealogy linking to the Métis Homeland (as validated by either MNA/RLI). (Not eligible if you are Inuit, or a Registered, Treaty or non-status Indian.)
