George Ellis Research Scholarship

The George Ellis Research Scholarship was established to promote academic research at the undergraduate level. A program of research activity must be carried out (under authorized supervision) and completed by April 1st of the academic year following the granting of the award. Holders of research scholarships may be expected to present to the Office of the Dean or the Director a complete report of the results of their research, in a form acceptable to the supervising department. Application may be made for academic credit through Independent Study for work done in fulfillment of the terms of the scholarship.

Eligibility:
Students must have completed a minimum of 19 semester courses (57.0 credit hours) in a degree program at the time the research is undertaken. Students will also have successfully completed a minimum of eight graded semester courses (24.0 credit hours) in the last two regular (fall/spring) semesters at the University of Lethbridge. The applicant’s research must be completed under the supervision of Department or Faculty member.

Application:
Applicants must submit a detailed description of their research project, transcripts of their complete academic record, and a reference from the appropriate Department or Faculty member responsible for the project. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their academic record, project description and faculty reference.
This award (maximum $3,000 – Scholarships and Student Finance will determine the value of the scholarship) is payable upon confirmation of full-time enrollment at the University of Lethbridge immediately following the granting of the award.
