School of Liberal Education Volunteer Scholarship

This award was established to reinforce the founding philosophy of Liberal Education at the University of Lethbridge, and to highlight the benefits of civic engagement, critical thinking, breadth of understanding of complex issues, and making multi-disciplinary connections AND the importance of volunteerism.

Continuing full-time undergraduate students in any degree program with minimum second year standing. Students must submit a uLethbridge Application for Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries to access the application for this scholarship. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed courses offered through the School of Liberal Education (LBED). Applicants will demonstrate outstanding academic achievement (minimum fall/spring GPA 3.50) as well as leadership and community engagement. First preference will be given to students who are registered with UVolunteer. Application consists of a 500 word write-up outlining how community involvement/engagement relates to liberal education. The scholarship is payable immediately following the granting of the award. Recipients are selected by committee. Recipient to be invited to Leaders of Tomorrow Gala. Students may only receive this award once.
