Sherry Davis

Sherry Davis (BMgt ’01) is a respected financial professional, passionate community advocate, and deeply engaged alumna of the University of Lethbridge. Her journey from mature student to nationally recognized leader in wealth management speaks to her resilience, integrity, and belief in the life-changing power of education.

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Sherry moved to Alberta in 1994 to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Lethbridge, as a visiting student from Memorial University of Newfoundland. At 26, while raising a young son and managing a household, she made the courageous decision to return to campus to pursue a Bachelor of Management. The experience, though daunting, proved transformational, and it cemented her lifelong commitment to post-secondary education and student support.

Professionally, Sherry is a Senior Financial Advisor at ATB Wealth, where she manages a portfolio serving high-net-worth families, agricultural producers, and hutterite colonies across Southern Alberta. She is widely respected for her expertise in retirement planning, estate strategies, intergenerational wealth transfer, and philanthropic giving. She was recognized as a President’s Council honoree (2021–2023) and named Female Trailblazer of the Year Awardee by Wealth Professional Canada in 2022.

Impact

Her dedication to giving back led to the creation of the Davis Family Academic Award in 2017—an annual scholarship supporting undergraduate students who, like her, balance academics with parenting or caregiving. She is proud to have three generations of her family attend the U of L, her daughter in law, Kimberlee Davis, B.Mgt, her son Nick Davis, B.Mgt, CPA and currently her granddaughter, Elizabeth Davis, who just completed the first year Engineering transfer program to attend the University of Alberta in fall 2025.

Her philanthropic spirit is matched by a steadfast commitment to volunteer service. She served as Assistant Governor for Rotary District 5360 (2021–2024), is Past President of the Lethbridge Breakfast Business Club, and was named Individual Philanthropist of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals – Southern Alberta Chapter in 2021. Sherry currently serves as Interim Vice-Chair of the University of Lethbridge Board of Governors, and is a former University Senator (2015–2021) and continues to mentor students through her work on the Advisory Council for the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF).
